Modern Flapper

I pulled the media into the editing tool and found I have been out of practice for the artist style fashion films. I tend to pair them with poems I have written to illustrate the emotions that twirl into new beginnings. I changed the method, just a bit where I watched the b-roll of moving images and then narrated the tale.

Creative expression is an interesting sort of dance far away from business school logic. There is no order, but rather a knowing that starts with elements of discovery. The artist must walk in the direction of the heart. Then the work evolves into a tapestry. A web that is woven with a door left open.

I called this short film Modern Flapper, as at times that is what I feel like with the Elsa Fitzgerald fashion house. I am searching for the elegance of the past in fashion form and seeking to create a present day look. One that honors the beauty of design yet allows for movement and dance of this kind.

This lovely suit is from Retropolitan and perfectly fit me like a glove.

The Bolton Hill area as a lovely back drop for this narrative on the same street where F. Scott Fitzgerald penned Tender is the Night.

This outfit seemed so dramatic, but now in the park scene it was just perfect. Velvet with fine beadwork and a green feather hat.
