Muscle Memory

Building routines is how you unearth a habit. I was so close to getting off track. My promise to myself was to run/walk on my home treadmill for 1 1/2 hrs as I watched an entrepreneurship training module. I was so close to staying on the warm cozy couch with my sweet dog.

Slowly but surely I stuck with it, but these days I do not run fast and often I am just fast walking. My goals are different, I am building the muscle of discipline and inner conviction. It is an integrity and commitment to myself to show up, not in an intense aggressive way. Instead I act with love for the person I know my heart longs to become.

By 9:30PM I did not get into the Elsa Fitzgerald fashion collection planning work. If I put it off it will be another moment where I am leaving my creative expression on the shelf. So instead, I spent the next hour showing up. I reviewed the design spreadsheets for the range plan and pricing and then moved onto my design boards. Do not let the day be lost to disappointment tomorrow. You still have time to turn the moment around, do it now that one thing that molds you into your future self today.

I had started this design process a few months back reviewing fashion magazines I had brought back from my travels through Asia, but these items had been packed away with the move to the farm.

So much work had to be unearthed trying to find where all the pieces and processes landed. I found the last point of range planning for the Elsa Fitzgerald collection and the fabric swatches that I had been reviewing all ready for me to get moving.

These are the images from my original inspiration board for Elsa Fitzgerald from my time in Bali, Indonesia where the fashion house was born. It is fun to remember my fashion inspiration roots.

I completed my boards starting with the mood, consumer and brand story board at the end. It is amazing what you can achieve when you stick to a plan for progress.
